Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy in South Riding, VA

Compassionate, private, and highly effective pelvic floor rehabilitation for women and men.

What Is Pelvic Floor Physical Therapy?

Pelvic floor physical therapy is a specialized area of rehabilitation that addresses dysfunction in the group of muscles, ligaments, and connective tissue that support the bladder, bowel, and reproductive organs. Pelvic floor conditions are extremely common but frequently undertreated. Many people live with symptoms for years without realizing it.

At Ascent Physical Therapy, our team provides expert, evidence-based care in a private and respectful setting.

Our Approach

Pelvic floor dysfunction can present as too little muscle activity (hypotonicity), too much (hypertonicity), or a combination of both — and it affects people of all genders and ages. Our evaluation begins with a thorough assessment to understand the full picture of your symptoms. Treatment is always individualized and may include internal or external manual therapy techniques, therapeutic exercise, biofeedback, education on bladder and bowel habits, and breathing and coordination training. We take the time to explain everything, answer your questions, and make sure you feel comfortable at every step of your care.

Pelvic floor PT is appropriate for a wide range of conditions across the lifespan, including issues related to pregnancy, postpartum recovery, menopause, aging, and cancer treatment.

You Don’t Have to Live With These Symptoms.

Pelvic floor conditions are not something you simply have to accept — not after pregnancy, not with aging, not at any stage of life. With the right treatment, your conditions will meaningfully improve. Our pelvic floor program is available to patients ages 9 and up, including adolescents, adults, and seniors. All sessions are conducted with full privacy and professionalism. We serve patients throughout South Riding, Ashburn, Chantilly, and the greater Northern Virginia area.
